Carnoustie Beach Rugby is all about the teams that enter and we’d like to give a warm welcome to Swole Team. The team have confirmed there not coming to CBR to take part, they’re here to take over!!!! These boys are clearly into fitness getting those sweet gains before a skint sesh at the union. Gym Rat turns to Club Rat.
CBR caught up with the team and found out some cool things about them.
Do you have any unusual team facts? We all studied together at College. Great to see College friendships continue to blossom and this is always a sign of a good team.
What’s the funniest thing that has ever happened to your club or team? Watching Dhugal Paterson pick up women. Dhugal apparently has the confidence and his chat up lines are legendary.
What is the strangest thing you have acquired either on tour or on your away trips? Harley Ross! CBR couldn’t get anymore from them to back this up.
Team or club rugby highlight? Winning the Dundee University integrated rugby tournament. This is no mean feat and shows the pedigree of this team. The bookies just slashed the odds on the Swole Team winning our tournament.
Who is your team Lothario? Dhugal Paterson by a mile. He didn’t get the name ʺDirty Dʺ for nothing. Dhugal sounds like quite a character!
Who is most likely to fall asleep on a night out? Elliot Batt, he’s only little. Elliot, CBR we’ll look after you.
Who is most likely to get sent off? James Millar. Doesn’t believe that the tip tackle is illegal!
Who is your top pint guzzler? Fergus Hill. He’ll let his little brother (Lewis) do all the running but claim all the glory. Fergus gets lots of practice at the student union.
Who is your team gentleman? Gareth Johns is the team gent. He also has style and sophistication!
Top tip for tournament top tryscorer? Lewis Hill. Young and has pace. Reminds you of a young Gerald Davies.
